University expects all students to have a good standard of English in order to successfully study on a course. The minimum English language requirement is GCSE grade C or 4, though the requirements for some courses may be higher.

This autumn, University has confirmed 220 research degree studentship opportunities across all our disciplines. 120 are fully funded and 100 are part funded. There are several ways to study your PhD with us. First, we have advertised funded projects that are listed in the table below. But you can also get in touch with our Schools and Institutes with an idea for your own research project. The most important thing to do is find an appropriate supervisor, and you can do this by:
