The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation fellowship offers sustained support to intellectuals who are recognized for their productivity, their commitment to communicating their findings to the public, and their ability to imagine innovative solutions to some of the major issues facing society.

Each year, up to five fellows are appointed by the Foundation, namely Canadian researchers in the “General” category and researchers who are not affiliated with a university in the “Visiting” category.

 Eligibilities

• Researchers active in a field of the humanities and social sciences related to one or more of the Foundation’s four themes
• Canadian citizens or permanent residents, or citizens of foreign countries legally allowed to reside in Canada for the funding period and
• Researchers affiliated or who will be affiliated during fellowships with an university that grants doctoral degrees

 APPLICATION PROCESS

• Candidates must be nominated by a Canadian university or a Foundation fellow, mentor or scholar.
