Underwood International College (UIC) in Sinchon campus is scheduled to move to the Daewoo Hall Annex this December. All UIC students are invited to this public contest to make a new name for the building. Please participate in this contest with your unique and creative ideas. The first, second and third place winners will receive UIC souvenir gifts.

Admissions Scholarship 

  • Qualification: Newly-admitted international students to UIC 
  • Types: full or half-tuition for 4 years 
  • How to apply:  International students applying for UIC will be automatically considered as scholarship candidates. Scholarship recipients are to be selected from admitted applicants according to their academic credentials. A scholarship offer letter will be enclosed in the admission packet and sent to the recipients individually. Scholarship recipients are required to maintain a certain level of GPA each semester to stay eligible for the scholarship in the following semester. 

Merit-based Scholarship 

  • Qualification: Currently-enrolled UIC students 
  • Types: full, half, or one-third of the tuition per semester 
  • How to apply: All UIC students are automatically considered as scholarship candidates. Each semester’s scholarship standard may vary; For more information or applying scholarship, please check the announcement.

Need-based Scholarship 

  • Qualification: Currently-enrolled UIC students 
  • Types: full, half, or one-third of the tuition per semester 
  • How to apply: Freedom scholarship will be announced at the end of each semester for UIC students in need of financial aid. Applicants must submit an application form and required documents, which will be reviewed by the UIC office. If necessary, applicants will be called in for individual interviews with the scholarship committee.

International Students Track: The student must be a non-Korean with non-Korean parents. If a student or any one of the student’s parent has dual citizenship with Korea, the student is NOT eligible for the International Students Track. Exceptionally, a Taiwanese applicant with one parent of Taiwanese citizenship is classified as an international student for application purposes. 

International Students & Overseas Korean Students Track 

  1. International students: International students are non-Korean citizens whose parents are both non-Korean citizens. A Korean citizen with dual citizenship is not considered an international applicant. 
  2. Overseas Korean students : Students who have completed their entire academic years of pre-university education overseas or the equivalent.
