After the “Lost Decade”, Japan is now on the journey to recover its potential growth with many revitalization processes happening in many aspects of Japan, including but not limited to education, economy, politics. One of the examples is the “Japan Revitalization Strategy” starting in 2013 acting as a catalyst for the making of a stronger, healthier and more active Japan.In this revitalization process of Japan’s future, the role of youth is utmostly important. Japan sees itself in the position of a “developed” country yet facing numerous problems such as aging population, declining birthrate, and energy issues. Moreover, the “Japan Revitalization Strategy” also pointed out the biggest factor in Japan’s economic slowdown is the “insufficient exploitation of human resource”. Therefore, by choosing the theme of 2018 “The Role of Youth in Revitalization”, we can bring all people to involve in the revitalization process of Japan. After 2018, we want to raise the awareness of people about the role of the young generation in fulfilling this journey of Japan, and also raise the awareness of the young people about every small thing they can do to keep contributing to their country. Revitalization process should not be the sole responsibility of the government but it should be the participation of the community, especially the young people, toward a globally competitive country. 

Eligibility:

• People aging from 18 - 30, being able to be at Tokyo on the conference day.
• Be able to communicate and hold a discussion in English.
• Working or having an idea on community development, leadership training, regional revitalization.
• Attend the conference fully.

• Committing to provide the program with the highest quality, we limit the number of participants to 50 people for this Hinode spring.
• Participants will be chosen based on their application form, how passionate they are about social development, how potential their ideas are.
• Participants of all backgrounds are all given fair screening.
