Purpose:  

  • Ensures that suppliers and manufacturing partners adhere to adidas quality standards.
  • Trains for certification suppliers’ quality staff and management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Builds and maintains a close relationship with interfaces such as development and merchandising team and supports them on new developments
  • Checks current production and solves problems that may arise during production and washing test
  • Checks the labeling and package comply with customer’s requirement
  • Follows up with factory on incoming fabric and accessory inspection according to adidas’ policy
  • Be fully conversant with our standards of engagement and is pro-active when such standards are not being adhered to
  • Assist production manager in monitoring production flow (WIP)

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • English fluency
  • Minimum of three years experience in garment manufacturing
  • Good IT-/EDP-skills

Manager Product Creation-Core FTW

Purpose:

Support SGN Creation Hub to create and execute against the designated areas of responsibility for the Business model as defined by the Core FTW Senior Management Team. Manage the process in all aspects related to product creation, aligning the product brief and initial design direction all the way through to product ex-factory.  This role requires strong management, alignment and collaboration with the strategic hub in Germany and with all creation functions at the Asia development center to fulfill product requirements (visual, costing, timing, trend relevant, productive.) 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Drive the product process to deliver against the brief, materials and design innovation, meeting gross margin/profitability objectives
  • Manage tools, range plans and create product overviews during development processes and communicate changes to all involved partners, forecast consolidation and analyses
  • Maintain all related product systems for designated area of the collection
  • Seek continual improvement in processes with a goal to drive leading product process with speed and efficiency.
  • In certain instances, provide creative briefs on allocated projects/products that give clear product and information to the service departments (Design, Development and Logistics)
  • Work cross functionally with key partners in sourcing/development/manufacturing to realize the vision of the products and category
  • Analyze and report category performance and research competitive landscape
  • Ensure all product milestones are achieved in a fast paced creation process.
  • Present the range internally and to cross functional partners such as the factory group

  • Strong business acumen in channel distribution, net sales, margin, profit and inventory

Assistant Manager Tooling FW (OAIII - Binh Duong)

  • Assists the Development / Commercialization Manager and the Tooling Manager in ensuring that the tooling used in development and commercialization complies with the stated design and development specifications from headquarters.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Development / Commercialization Manager and the Tooling Manager in ensuring that tooling:
    • incorporates latest technology developments
    • adheres to specific development / commercialization timelines.
    • Meets with adidas quality standards.
  • Works with mold shops and manufacturers in the continuous upgrade of technical applications and processes and implements them into the tooling facilities.
  • Is aware of adidas brand mission and customer focus; has some knowledge of adidas history and understands the technical direction of the product range.

    Operations:

  • Establishes an efficient tracking system on tooling and tooling related processes with factory and mold shops; ensures that tooling development complies with the established development and commercialization timelines.
  • Evaluates tech packages, technical drawings etc. to check that they have been correctly processed and include all necessary information. Evaluates gauges, molds etc. to ensure that they meet specifications and adidas quality standards.
  • Establishes and manages a central filing system for all technical drawings and relevant graded patterns.
  • Updates the mold manual; processes incoming information on latest industrial standards; ensures that these standards are evaluated and, if appropriate, adopted into working processes.
  • Establishes standards for:
    • mold technology
    • the grading system
    • quality check and correct tooling execution
    • process-oriented procedures
    • CAC/CAM and software application.
  • Initiates and participates in mold/engineering tear down meetings and establishes a reporting system for the findings.
  • Must be familiar with adidas policies regarding:
    • tooling standards

  • Ensures health and safety requirements are met and SOE rules are implemented.
  • Establishes well structured tooling training for development/commercialization staff of the LO office to enhance knowledge and technical skills. After the training, participants should be able to handle TN projects in an independent manner.
  • Handle yearly PCT projects which PCT manager assigned to Operation area that he/she is responsible for

Requisite Education/Experience:

Manager Development and Commercialization FW

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:

  • Fully accountable for development, commercialization, product integrity, manufacturability, Create to Value (CTV), performance to target FOB of a selection of product within a category. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and commercialization process of assigned products in collaboration with Tier 1 factory personnel and technical teams.  Provides specific technical expertise to ensure effective transition of footwear design into samples and production while ensuring the manufacturability, material selection, material standards, development timeline and cost to target are met.
  • Supervise the direct development process between Headquarter/Creation Center Project Management and Tier 1 factory ensuring that Create to Value approach and product integrity is at the paramount priority and focus.
  • Supervise junior development staffs in continuous upgrades of technical applications and processes and implementation of new technology in development and engineering.
  • Manage junior team member and/or factory direct developer and contribute considerably to the achievement of team objectives.
  • Operationally, account for development/commercialization area with predefined scope of responsibilities.
  • Explain product requirement and standards to factory and /or LO teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Influence HQ (Design, Marketing, Brand Operations, Quality) and external parties (factory Development /Commercialization & Production) and drive change using principle centered vs policy driven with adi Dassler Standards as the center of focus in managing/ solving conflicts.
  • Make day to day decisions within defined scope (with support on complex issues)
  • Execute defined directives.

  • Can manage direct reports with support from line manager.
  • Good written and verbal English communication.
  • German, Chinese, Indonesia or Vietnamese language knowledge an advantage.

Requisite Education and Qualifications:

  • University degree preferably on shoe making or engineering.
  • 5+ year production, development or related experience in Footwear industry.
  • Passion and interest in athletic competition, sports or fitness related activities.
  • Production, Product Testing or development/commercialization or costing background
  • Good knowledge of shoes manufacturing process.
  • Experience in pattern engineering, mold making, grading, materials processing etc
  • Ability to read shell patterns, 2D and 3D blueprints, spec sheets, cost breakdowns, etc
  • Good understanding of costing principles and process; ability to decipher cost breakdown related to products
