The role

Student Activities Officer is responsible for the development and administration of programs to help maximise the engagement of students and university life. This position supports the activities of Student Clubs and Societies, as well as other events and activities facilitated by the Student Life division. The role includes maintaining links with external bodies, other universities, internal departments and Student Council. In addition, the position will support the continuous improvement of Student Clubs as well as delivery of training programs for student club executives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the coordination, administration and governance of the RMIT Student Club Program.
• Assist in the development of club guidelines and policies, ensuring clubs comply with relevant RMIT regulations
• Support the development and content management on the RMIT Vietnam  website and  student communication channels pertaining to this role.
• Assist in the delivery of other RMIT Student Life activities and events, from large-scale events to weekly activity sessions.
• Support the Activities Manager in organizing student events/activities.
• Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders, collect and complete paperwork, supervise the operation on event days.

Key selection criteria:

• A relevant Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in event management, recreation, or port
• Demonstrated ability in effective time management skills and follow through on project based initiatives.
• Familiarity in managing extra curriculum activities in university environment
• Experience in event management and application of administrative skills in the workplace.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills, including negotiation, liaison, and cross cultural communication.
• Well-developed planning, organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and customer service

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS

If English is not your first language, or you have not completed secondary education in an English speaking institution in an English speaking country, then you will be required to demonstrate a minimum English language proficiency standard at a BULATS Intermediate level (BULATS score 60), equivalent to IELTS (General) 5.5.

If you are not sure your current level of English language proficiency, RMIT Vietnam will provide opportunities for you to undertake testing if you are shortlisted for the position.
