Research Assistant (Full-time, 11 months)

The role & key responsibilities

The Research Assistant will provide research support to the project Towards Excellence in Computational Research. Working under the general direction of the Primary Investigator, the Research Assistant will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day- research activities of the study, acting as first point of contract for all enquiries related to the study, and provide support when needed.

Specific responsibilities will depend on the topic, nature and duration of the project, as provided by the Primary Investigator.

As a Level 3 Research Assistant, you will be expected to contribute specialist support, with technical or specialist expertise paramount.

Key selection criteria

  • A University degree in a relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct analytical research; to analyse, interpret, evaluate, coordinate as well as report resulting information.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with people at all levels, in particular the project team.
  • Experience in preparing research reports and graphic presentations of data.
  • Problem solving skills that assures detailed follow-up when required.
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills with proven ability to prioritise multiple tasks, set and meet deadlines and give attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications and analytical software.
  • Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues and project team leaders.

English proficiency requirements

If English is not your native language then you will be required to demonstrate a minimum English language proficiency standard at a BULATS Intermediate level (BULATS score 65), equivalent to IELTS (General) 5.5.  RMIT Vietnam will require you to complete a BULATS test to assess your level of English before an offer of employment can be made.

Student Administration Officer

The role

The Student Administration Officer is responsible for utilising the systems and processes involved in administering all aspects of students’ enrolment from first enrolment to graduation. This includes but is not limited to processing student enrolments and enrolment variations, supporting student examinations and graduations.  This position will be responsible for resolving enrolment issues as well as all associated tasks that fall under RMIT Vietnam’s policy and procedural framework.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for student administration processes concerning maintaining student enrolments throughout the student lifecycle. 
  • Support the coordination of events including examinations and graduations.
  • Maintain frequent and effective communications with Student Admissions Coordinators, Student Advisors to ensure student applications and enrolments are processed efficiently and with minimal errors.
  • Solve complex procedural and client service issues and provide policy and procedural advice to other members.
  • Collect and analyse data on student administration operations for the purposes of quality improvement.

Key selection criteria:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or related discipline
  • Experience in administrative systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in a complex customer service environment.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy when inputting data and managing information.
  • Demonstrated ability in liaising with people at all levels and areas of an organisation

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS

If English is not your first language, or you have not completed secondary education in an English speaking institution in an English speaking country, then you will be required to demonstrate a minimum English language proficiency standard at a BULATS Intermediate level (BULATS score 60), equivalent to IELTS (General) 5.5

If you are not sure your current level of English language proficiency, RMIT Vietnam will provide opportunities for you to undertake testing if you are shortlisted for the position.
