We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join this team in the role of Operations Officer, Credit Services

- Manage day-to-day operational activities to safeguard the Bank from potential loss:

  • Processes and ensures that all transactions/facilities are properly authorized within set limits.
  • Assist Operations Manager in collating data and providing management information statistics/reports.
  • Assist Operations Manager in ensuring sufficient crewing of staff.
  • Implement measures to increase productivity levels.
  • Conducts checks, directs clerical staff on rectification and corrective action on deficiencies.
  • Manage daily operational activities to ensure timely processing of new applications.
  • Review & monitor MIS data and provide management information statistics/reports.

- Ensure various units of Operations comply with BIM/FIM regulations, audit recommendations and, DIB procedural guidelines:

  • Coordinating with Operations units in the management of operational risk associated with the role and take action to minimize the likelihood of operational risk occurring, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting. 
  • To implement the Group Compliance policy locally by managing compliance risk in liaison with the Head of Group Compliance, Regional Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.

- Maintain HSBC control standards and follow Group Compliance Policy to minimize operational risk by:

  • Remaining compliant with and ensures awareness of Audit and Group requirements and other internal guidelines.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with government banking regulations.
  • Timely implementing internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

- Ensure department maintains a high standard of customer service delivery:

  • Conducts investigations/gathers information so that timely responses to customers’ requests and instructions are maintained.

- Contribute towards the continuous improvement of the department.

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • 2-3 years experience in operations role
  • Good command of English
  • Analytical and detail oriented
  • Experience of interpreting and analyzing a large volume of information and / or data.
  • A team player with good communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Flexibility to support other operational teams when required
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications

  • Maximize cost effectiveness by meeting the set targets.

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Assist Approval Officer/ Manager in other daily related tasks and when required.

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • University degree in finance, economics or other relevant area.
  • English and good communication skills.
  • Experience in consumer credit risk management, financial analysis is a plus.
  • Professional qualification in accounting or credit analysis is preferable.
