1. Visa Processing Officers.

The position reports directly to the Team Leader and works under the direction of a line manager in the Department of Immigration and Border Protection at the Australian Embassy in Hanoi. The position is responsible for assessing and deciding Australian temporary and permanent visa applications, including conducting client interviews and case integrity investigations. The role involves some structured decision-making and judgement.

The successful applicant will be employed on a full-time basis for an initial period of 12 months. The monthly gross salary will be VND25,872,031.

The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Effectively apply and interpret legislation, policies and procedures to decide visa applications or make recommendations for a decision by delegated senior officers.

• Interview visa applicants, prepare interview reports and perform case integrity investigations.

• Undertake moderately complex written tasks, including preparation of visa decision records and client correspondence in English, in accordance with the Department’s electronic and paper record keeping requirements.

• Identify and escalate complex or sensitive cases to senior staff according to office protocols.

• Provide interpreting and translation services. .

• Under close direction, liaise with external stakeholders and undertake representation activities at official functions and other forums.

• Undertake a range of client contact duties in Vietnamese and English, including responding to client enquiries in person, by telephone and in writing.

• Provide administrative support as directed.

Qualifications/Experience

• Fluent written and oral English and Vietnamese language skills.

• Knowledge of immigration policies, procedures and guidelines and/or specialised knowledge relevant to the work area.

• Experience working with the Microsoft Office suite of applications

• Tertiary qualifications would be an advantage.

2. Visa Processing Support Officer

The Visa Processing Support Officer (VPSO) assists with administrative functions for the Department of Immigration and Border Protection at the Australian Embassy in Hanoi. The VPSO provide routine administrative support to the Visa Processing teams and/or senior staff. They may be required to co-ordinate routine tasks and workflow and may be required to undertake procedural, clerical administrative support or operation tasks. The VPSO is responsible for delivering results in accordance with their work goals and demonstrate a high level of productivity. The successful applicant will be employed on a full-time basis for an initial period of 12 months. The monthly gross salary will be VND21,608,800.

The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Register and manage correspondence and documentation that comes into the office.

• Update electronic records with a focus on accurate data entry.

• Maintain, archive and dispatch case files.

• Undertake procedural and clerical administrative support relating to operational tasks.

• Coordinate routine tasks.

• Liaise with relevant stakeholders and facilitate the transfer of files and information flow.

• Preparation of financial documents and asset audits. Qualifications/Experience
