3. Regional Head Teaching Assistant (RHTA)

1. Mission statement of the Regional Head Teaching Assistant (RHTA)

  • To supervise and observe the teaching assistants (TAs) in their region to consistently deliver effective lessons, support native teachers and improve the quality of the program as a whole.

2. Outcomes

The RHTA is expected to achieve the following outcomes:

  • Communicate weekly with every TA in their region, face -to-face or by phone, and visit each school in their region at least once per term.
  • Observe and give feedback to each TA in their region at least twice per term with the total number up to 50 for the whole school year.
  • Accurately identify TAs who are underperforming, and support and coach them through an improvement plan to meet requirements.
  • Assess TA’s working performance in their region based on the standard performance review form designed by SL at the end of the school year.
  • Arrange teaching assistants to do peer observation with another strong TA in their region to develop specific competencies and improve their teaching assistance (roughly 2 per term during the school year).
  • Report weekly to the Vietnamese AC any related issues and solutions.
  • Assist TAs in their region to handle daily issues including difficulties with students, native teachers, TA/school relationships, facilities, etc. (in consultation with Vietnamese AC as necessary).
  • Check and mark students’ homework revision for their own classes.
  • Attend their classes’ parent meetings (once per school year) if required.
  • Teach their own lessons (from 10-15 lessons per week) and make these available for other TAs to observe, as a basis for discussing teaching assistance.
  • Cover for other TAs if required.
  • Other duties assigned by VN AC.

  • Liên hệ hàng tuần với mỗi trợ giảng thuộc khu vực quản lý, gặp mặt trực tiếp hoặc gọi điện thoại và đến thăm trường ít nhất một lần mỗi học kỳ.

  • Nhận diện chính xác những trợ giảng chưa đạt yêu cầu công việc, hỗ trợ và đào tạo họ bằng kế hoạch cụ thể để đáp ứng yêu cầu công việc.
  • Đánh giá năng lực chuyên môn của trợ giảng thuộc khu vực mình quản lý dựa trên tiêu chí đánh giá năng lực do SL thiết kế vào cuối mỗi năm học.
  • Bố trí để giáo viên trợ giảng dự giờ chéo những giáo viên giỏi nhằm phát triển năng lực và nâng cao chuyên môn của trợ giảng (khoảng 2 lần mỗi học kỳ trong năm học).
  • Gửi báo cáo hàng tuần cho điều phối viên những vấn đề tồn tại và các giải pháp.
  • Hỗ trợ giáo viên trợ giảng giải quyết các vấn đề phát sinh bao gồm những bất cập về học sinh, giáo viên nước ngoài, mối quan hệ giữa trợ giảng và nhà trường, cơ sở vật chất… (Tham khảo ý kiến của điều phối viên nếu cần thiết).
  • Kiểm tra và chấm bài tập về nhà cho học sinh thuộc các nhóm lớp được phân công.
  • Tham dự buổi họp phụ huynh học sinh (một lần trong năm học) nếu được yêu cầu.
  • Dạy các nhóm lớp được phân công (từ 10 đến 15 tiết mỗi tuần) và tạo điều kiện cho các trợ giảng khác được dự giờ, đây cũng là cơ sở để thảo luận về chuyên môn.
  • Dạy thay cho các trợ giảng khác nếu được yêu cầu.

Collaboration fee

  • Gross and fix salary: This can be negotiable with strong candidates.

10. [HCM] Student Care Assistant (SCA)

1. Teaching assistance

  • Being a teaching assistant a limited number of hours, with full responsibility in supporting the classroom teachers in the teaching and learning process of students that are assigned to the class.
  • Take charge of classes in emergency situations or be a substitute for TAs when necessary
  • Work cooperatively with teaching staffs and assisting them as directed.

2. Monitoring the self-learning center

  • Provide support for learners (individual or in small groups) so that they better achieve their learning goals.
  • Give academic advising sessions and assist students with homework in their self-learning time.
  • Take a lead role in the organization and monitoring of the self-learning center; including arranging learning materials, computer management, and keeping a suitable and comfortable learning environment for students and so on.
