Center for Sustainable Development Studies (CSDS) is a Vietnamese non-governmental organization, focusing on youth and community development as well as international volunteer exchange. Founded in 2009, CSDS develops and implements programs in different areas of the country to contribute to the sustainable development of Vietnamese society.

Youth Drivers for Change project is being implemented by CSDS with funding from Irish Aid. The project aims to build the capacity of voluntary, youth-led, community based organizations to generate social action that will contribute positively to the on-going development of Vietnam.

2030 Youth Force is a network of young leaders from Asia-Pacific countries, founded youth with support from UNDP/UNV in Asia, with the goals to inspire youth to participate in activities which contribute to complete the 17 SDGs, and motivate youth to create optimistic changes towards an inclusive and peaceful society.

In Viet Nam, 2030 Youth Force is the network in which youth-led organizations with mutual targets and visions, aims at promoting youth to create positive changes for society, in association with the objective of promoting the completion of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (17 SDGs) of United Nations in 2030. The project Youth4SDGs supported by Oxfam aims to accelerate the active participation of youth in sustainable development agenda and expand the operation of 2030 Youth Force Vietnam.

In early December, CSDS, 2030 Youth Force Vietnam and relevant partners will organize a series of activities which will promote youth active citizenship by strengthening their voices and roles in the community. These activities will consist of three major events: Youth Forum, Youth Dialogue, and the Network Planning Meeting will be hosted in Hanoi with participation from all over the country. Detailed objectives of the activities are:

1. Facilitating the discussion of ideas and experience for social development from youth leaders with the aim of inspiring, strengthening their activities in their service for the community, and connectig with sponsors and promising partners to build a youth development network.

2. Providing tools and methods for youth leaders and help them develop a youth petition focusing on their contributions to communities using themes from SDGs, especially with the support from the communities and authorities.

3. Enhancing the connection between youth groups inside and outside the 2030YFV network, helping to build a strong community of youth groups. This connection will be made real with follow-up plans and actions after the workshop.

4. Offering an enabling space whereby representatives of 2030YFV members exchange ideas and devise a practical plan of independent finance for the network and stronger network activities with distinctive organizational culture and newly designed model of working groups in the next year.

 

Position/ Job Description

CSDS is looking for a capable facilitator (or a group of facilitators) who can apply creative methods in working with youth (aged 18 – 30 years old) to facilitate youth leaders to work together to achieve the aforementioned objectives.

Note: Event 1-2 and Event 3 could be facilitated by two different facilitators

Specific tasks:

· To design the content of the events, employing co-creational methods in working with various stakeholders inside and outside of CSDS;

· To guide/facilitate workshops for youth leaders of different provinces throughout Vietnam;

· To host the policy dialogue forum with inputs from youth leaders in youth dialogue forum and other stakeholders.

· To analyze the feedback and content created in these workshops with the intention of proposing concepts for future activities;

· To produce reports in both English and Vietnamese, upon completion of the service.

 

Qualifications:

· Technical skills: familiarity with co-creation methods;

· At least 3 years of experience and demonstrated experience in facilitating groups;

· Strong interest in working with young people and engaging youth as active agents in social projects;

· At lease 3 years of working experience and proven knowledge related to youth rights, sustainable development issues, civil and political context of Vietnam;

· At least 3 years of experience working with different stakeholders including government, civil society organizations, and communities.
