Science of Life Studies 24/7 Malaysia (better known as SOLS 24/7), is tax exempted, humanitarian organisation registered in Malaysia.

The organisation was created to provide subsidised or free non-formal education programs to underserved communities and currently has 14 ongoing programs and projects in Malaysia.

Among its objectives is to develop and implement holistic training programs that are effective, relevant to the community as well as easily applied and replicated. The programs focus on academic skills, such as English, Computer skills (hardware and software), ICT, Solar Technology as well as character and leadership skills. SOLS 24/7 has also made it a policy to accept the same number of male and female students with an emphasis for female students who tend to be sidelined for education opportunities by their families.

In 2013, co-founder Raj Ridvan Singh further expanded the vision and mission of SOLS 24/7 and founded its Social Empowerment Arm.

1. Communications

Communications with SOLS 24/7 is never boring. We run 10 diverse programmes in 4 core sectors. The breadth of substance and material with which to communicate is incredible. Working in communications, you will be maintaining the public face of the organisation. From social media, website, Google Ads, to appearance in print, radio and broadcasting platforms. You will have the opportunity to work with various programme managers to ensure that each social cause is well communicated.

2. Marketing

Marketing for SOLS 24/7’s diverse programmes is a challenging and exciting position. You will have to manage and execute projects, create new strategies and reach out to partners. Content creation is important as well, with an emphasis on social media, preparing flyers, posters and other marketing materials for your programme.

3. Graphic Design

4. Video Grapher

With all the projects that we are working on at SOLS 24/7, there are always stories to tell, and we are always looking for creative ways to tell them. The videographer professional placement will work for the SOLS 24/7 Communications Department, with a large focus on shooting, editing and producing videos of our various projects around Kuala Lumpur and occasionally around Malaysia. Other tasks will include managing our YouTube channel, planning and executing communication campaigns.

6. Scholar Development

The Scholar Development professional placement will assist in training and educational development. Plan and deliver training sessions internally and externally. Research and development on education and training materials needs based. Design education materials for SOLS projects and programs as advised by management.

Operations in SOLS 24/7 is the fuel and support structure of our organisation. Our nationwide programmes have logistic demands that fall under the jurisdiction of operations. You will have to assist in report writing, logistics coordination, inventory management and more.

8. Monitoring and Evaluation

SOLS 24/7 Malaysia has so many diverse projects, each with it’s own niches and nuances. In project management, you will be responsible for programme monitoring, where you will collect data, apply analysis frameworks and report to management. Other responsibilities include the evaluation and implementation of new methodologies for programmes, collaboration with programme staff and management, and writing project reports for external stakeholders.

9. Education and Training Internship

The Education and Training professional placement will assist in training and development activities in SOLS Malaysia and ensure the operational success of the team. The team provides services to the SOLS staff and forms an integral part of the efforts to accommodate and develop our temporary and long term staff.

The main purpose is to deliver formal training or other informal E&T interventions that meet the specific needs of staff and projects. In addition, the team is in charge of standardizing the education process, increasing and maintaining the quality, assessing and advising the education staff, researching and developing education materials as per the organisation needs.

10. Project Coordination

The project coordination internship will be able to work closely with the Community Centre program at SOLS. With the aim of encouraging the success and monitoring the progress of these Centres, the Professional Placement will focus on communicating with and assisting the Community Centre Managers.

11. Management

The Management Intern will have the opportunity to work closely with a variety of departments in an administrative, supervising role, and will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). With the aim of smoothing communication between management and department-level positions, the Intern will focus on filtering information, providing updates, and performing a wide variety of administrative and operations-related tasks.

The English & IT Development Intern will work with the SOLS Smart department to participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of training sessions conducted for SOLS staff. 13. Center Coordinator for SOLS Health

The Center Coordinator will provide support to the Center Manager by performing a broad range of clerical and executive assistant duties. The Coordinator will also work collaboratively with parents, staff, Mental Health professionals, and the larger community in the delivery of mental health services to the children, parents and staff. An ability to work with a minimum of supervision and as an effective member of a team will be beneficial for this position.
