Internship in Programming for ILO Country Office for Viet Nam

Viet Nam re-joined the ILO in 1992 and the ILO Country Office was opened in Hanoi in 2003. The main aims of the ILO in Viet Nam are to promote rights at work, encourage decent employment opportunities, enhance social protection and strengthen dialogue on work-related issues.

Working in partnership with the Government of Viet Nam, especially the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour, the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Viet Nam Cooperative Alliance, the ILO has offered support through policy advice, capacity building and technical cooperation to open opportunities for women and men to gain access to better jobs and have a voice in the decisions that affect their lives.

To support the implementation of the TC projects under Cluster 1 and 2, the Programme Unit of the CO Hanoi is looking for an intern. S/he will be responsible for supporting Programme Unit in implementing the Projects under (1) Cluster 1: Employment and Enterprise Sustainable Development and (2) Cluster 2: Social Protection.

The intern will be based in Hanoi and report to Programme Officer. He/She will work closely with the projects under Cluster 1 and 2.

The candidate must be enrolled in the final year of a graduate degree programme, preferably at an

accredited university, in economics, statistics, social sciences and/or a related field, or have completed such

programme in the year preceding the application.

Assistant to Head of Office

Manages the agenda of the HFO including scheduling of appointments, receiving visitors, supporting communications (phone, email and other) and prioritises workflow through the HFO Office and distribution of information throughout the office. The assistant makes travel and hotel arrangements and prepares travel authorizations/ claims for the HFO and facilitates participation of National Commission for Viet Nam and government counterparts to national, regional and global UNESCO events.

 

Deadline for submissions: Midnight 10 February 2017

Initiates and processes a variety of contractual and administrative documents including follow up and timely completion of impending actions. Uses word processing, spreadsheets and presentation packages to produce a wide variety of large, complex documents and reports, including formatting more complex letters, reports, technical documents, speeches, presentations and other material. Proofreads documents and edits texts for accuracy, grammar, punctuation and style, as well as for adherence to established standards for format.

 

Provides secretarial, administrative and logistics support to meetings of the HFO with government, UN and other partners, including preparation of invitation letters; compilation and distribution of working documents and other materials; preparation of minutes; and providing informal transaltion and interpretation from Vietnamese to English. Liaises with UN organisations in the preparation of meetings and events. Supports HFO participation in UNCT, OPFMAC and SMT meetings. Supports internal senior staff meetings.

Maintains and updates electronic and paper records/files and tracking systems (e.g. information databases, mailing lists, participant lists, correspondence, contracts and budgetary information); ensures the proper establishment and closure of files and safe retention of same; ensure timely processing and response on requests and correspondence.

Project Component Accountant


The project “Conservation of Critical Wetland Protected Areas and Linked Landscapes’ (Wetland Project) is a four- year project (2015-2018) funded by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) through UNDP. The project will provide technical support to the Government of Vietnam in establishing new wetland protected areas, developing institutional and organizational capacity for effective wetland operation and management to reduce threats to biodiversity and linked landscapes among wetland areas.

Deadline for submissions: 17.00, Saturday, February 27, 2016, (Ha Noi time, working hour)

The project was approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) in Decision No. 837/QD-BTNMT dated April 13, 2015. The Institute of Strategy, Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (ISPONRE) is the project owner and Biodiversity Conservation Agency (BCA) is the co-implementing agency, which is responsible for implementing the project component on consolidating legal framework on wetland, strengthening capacity for wetland conservation and sustainable use, and establishment and operation of wetland protected area in Thai Thuy, Thai Binh province.

This Accountant will work part-time for 6 months during the maternity leave time of the Component Accountant. However, he/she must be available at project’s request and fulfill work well as assgined. He/she will work for Management Unit of CIP component at Biodiversity Conservation Agency of VEA, MONRE.
