Task (Mô Tả Công Việc):

The Online Volunteer will conduct a desk review, as well as consultations, to capture all youth organizations and networks in Viet Nam based on given research questions. The national mapping is part of a regional project by UNV, UNESCO and UNFPA to strengthen collaboration and networks of youth volunteering for sustainable development. The data collected on the youth organizations and networks will contribute to an online directory that will be launched later in 2017. |Under the guidance of the project managers from UNV and UNESCO, the selected Online Volunteer will develop a strategy for mapping. Initial feedback will be provided in a Skype call at the end of January 2017. The information collected will be captured in an Excel template with several questions/categories, which will be finalized by 26 February 2017. After that, there may be the possibility of contributing to the development of the UN online platform and the review of mapping of other countries.

Background & Objectives (Thông tin về tổ chức & mục đích):

UNV, UNESCO and UNFPA are conducting a joint regional mapping project of youth networks and organizations in Asia and the Pacific. - Why mapping? There are around 700 million youth in the Asia-Pacific region, many of whom form youth organizations and networks to volunteer and pave the way for sustainable development. They take action and advocate for human rights, building more inclusive and resilient societies that leave no one behind, and improving youth policy in their country. Youth voices are stronger together and many youth initiatives have similar objectives. Through the mapping project, UNV, UNESCO and UNFPA aim at creating an online map which would enable youth organizations to liaise with each other and strengthen existing networks. Online Volunteers will capture youth initiatives in 20 selected countries in Asia-Pacific. For each country, there is a separate opportunity on www.onlinevolunteering.org. The results of the mapping project will also feed into further UN research. Upon successful completion of the assignment, Online Volunteers will be given a certificate, as well as receive acknowledgement on the online platform and in the research publication.

Requirements (Yêu cầu):

  • (1) Good knowledge of English and Vietnamese is required.
  • (2) Experience with research/mapping and knowledge on youth initiatives in the country (e.g. as member of a youth organization or networks) are assets and should be mentioned in the application for this opportunity.
