The competition is organized by the Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS) and AccuWeather. In addition to our sponsor AccuWeather, the competiton is also supported by Olympus and Epson.

AcuuWeather and the Royal Meteorological Society are looking for the best photographs from around the world that depict weather in its widest sense.

This could range from weather phenomena such as clouds, lightning, rain, fog and wind through to the impact of weather on man, cities and the natural landscape.

Calling for entries from all photographers worldwide, professional or amateur, we are looking for the best images depicting weather in its widest sense. This could range from weather phenomena such as clouds, lightning, rain, fog or snow through to the impact of weather on humans, cities and the natural landscape. The competition calls for stunning images, dramatic in what they depict or because of the story they tell of the impact of weather.

• Weather Photographer of the Year (17 Years and above):
  • First Runner Up – £250 cash plus RMetS membership for the year

• Young Weather Photographer of the Year 2018 (16 Years and under):

Eligibilities

The competition is open to everyone.

Application

• Entry is free.
• You may enter up to 6 single images. Images should have been taken within the past three years.
• Register into https://www.weather-photo.org/events/weather-photographer-year/. Then enter your name, a user name, email address and create a password.
• When you upload your images don't forget to add a caption and descriptive text and click the Enter Image box to make it live. If you want to hide it later, delete it or update your text you can always come back to it later. We'll send you a confirmation email each time you save an image to the competiion website. 
• If you've ticked the Allow Comments box when you register you will receive an email when other people comment on your image - so remember to tell your friends and family about this competition and to share a link to your images!
