The Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies (BIGSAS) offers Ph.D. scholarships for candidates whose dissertation projects fit into one of the Graduate School’s new subject areas. Applicants of any nationality can apply for these Ph.D. scholarships.
In the focus of this unique structure of creative and innovative training are approximately 100 Junior Fellows from 27 African, American, Asian and European countries.

The Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies (BIGSAS) brings together African and European academic networks and fosters partnership not only between the University of Bayreuth and its six Partner Universities in Africa but also among universities in Africa.
