Assistant Manager Production (Mekong Delta based)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:

  • Share accountability for quality, production, manufacturing efficiency targets and SEA in the designated production area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designated area/duties in production operations of assigned factories.

  • Support the production manager in implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) techniques and quality tools in daily production operations.

  • Make day to day decisions within defined scope (with support on complex issues).

  • Good written and verbal English communication.
  • Chinese or Korean (for communication with Factory Prod/QIP heads) a clear advantage.

Requisite Education and Qualifications:

  • University degree preferably on shoe making or engineering or Industrial Management area. Training/Certification in Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma tools is a plus advantage.
  • Preferable Footwear industry experience (most favourable subjects: Production, Quality, Development / Commercialization, LEAN, Manufacturing Excellence, Industrial Engineer)
  • Commitment to work in Mekong-delta area.

Costing Specialist FW

Ho Chi Minh City | Vietnam | Production

Purpose:

Negotiating product cost in support of brand product margins requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute standard costing processes of defined product ranges or brands such as completing and verifying cost break down sheets and any related information (multiple rounds) , tooling amortization tracking and settlement, Minimum Order Quantity Tracking for Materials etc. (50%)
  • Lead the product specific negotiation with T1/T2 suppliers for process cost such as HF, Heat Emboss, Welting, Embroidery, Printing, Painting, yield interlocking, loss allowance etc. (20%)
  • Support the (Assistant) Costing Manager in collecting relevant data/information for selected products/ranges or categories for projects as well as participating as project member in projects. (10%)
  • Maintain and update the product development creation systems as well as costing relevant systems according to product development calendars. (10%)
  • Coaches and trains costing staff and factory costing (if needed) in all aspects of costing procedures and processes. (5%)
  • Responsible for Ledger Claim verification for defined range of products for e.g. order cancellations, dropped models, tooling settlements, development surcharges, etc. (5%)
  • Collaborate closely with Development, Materials and other key functions within the LO and respective factories to ensure that products are developed to cost targets.

  • Ensures business relationships between adidas and the assigned factory(ies) and suppliers are maintained at the highest level of trust and integrity.
  • Internal customer: HQ both brands adidas and Reebok costing and product teams. LO operation teams and other departments. Ensure collaborative partnerships are maintained at highest level to achieve adidas’s overall objective.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong price negotiation skills.

  • Some technical experience and knowledge of product construction and manufacturing methods (product development or costing experience).

Assistant Manager Development & Commercialization - FW

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:

  • Fully accountable for development, commercialization, product integrity, manufacturability, Create To Value (CTV), performance to target FOB of a selection of products within a category. 

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Category Team Leader (CTL) or Development & Commercialization Manager (DCM) in managing the development and commercialization process of assigned products in collaboration with Tier 1 factory personnel and technical teams.  Provides specific technical expertise to ensure effective transition of footwear design into samples and production while ensuring the manufacturability, material selection, material standards, development timeline and cost to target are met.
  • Support the CTL or DCM in a continuous upgrade of technical applications and processes and implementation of new technology in development and engineering.
  • Operationally, account for development/commercialization area with predefined scope of responsibilities.
  • Guide and collaborate with factory direct developer and contribute considerably to the achievement of team objectives.
  • Explain product requirements and standards to factory and/or LO teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Influence HQ (Design, Marketing, Brand Operations, Quality) and external parties (Factory Development & Commercialization & Production) and drive change using principle centered vs policy driven with adi Dassler Standards as the center of focus in managing/ solving conflicts.

Requisite Education and Qualifications:

  • University degree preferably on shoe making or engineering
  • 3-5+ years production, development or related experience in Footwear industry.
  • Passion and interest in athletic competition, sports or fitness related activities
  • Production, Product Testing or dev./comm. or costing background
  • Good knowledge of shoes manufacturing process.
  • Some experience in pattern engineering, mold making, grading, materials processing etc.
  • Ability to read shell patterns, 2D and 3D blueprints, spec sheets, cost breakdowns, etc.
  • Good understanding of costing principles and process; ability to decipher cost breakdown related to products.

Manager Supply Planning FW

Purpose

Lead a supply Planning team in several Operations Centers in supplying products according to (or exceeding) customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Ensure consistent execution of all standard planning processes in multiple operations centers and lead the OC and the factory planning teams in achieving highest level of product availability by active KPI management, timely problem solving as well as ensuring implementation of adidas Group policies and procedures within the supply base.
  • Build, develop, motivate, and lead the responsible OC planning team.
  • Drive initiatives and cross functional alignment on planning direction in the responsible Operations Centers to meet and exceed service level to the brands and evolving the current planning processes and procedures to the next level

Essential duties & responsibilities:

  • Drive allocation decisions within the responsible Operation Centers in ensuring that planning directions and priorities are executed to best satisfy customer demands while taking into consideration all possible manufacturing constraints (at both T1 & T2 levels)
  • Monitor and communicate factors likely to impact T1 & T2 delivery performance and drive improvement actions plan with Operations Managers, Functional departments, and Factory Management.   Support Planning Manager in communicating and rolling out strategic planning direction.
  • Actively lead a cross functional team within the responsible operation centers in identifying bottlenecks and complexities on critical materials and implement corrective actions to improve the overall T1 and T2 delivery performance.
  • Work closely with all business partners, Operations Managers, and OC functional department in Implementing planning process improvement and ensuring that production priorities are executed.
  • Support the Planning Manager in rolling out global initiatives as well as participating as project member or subject matter expert on global scale projects. 
  • Verify and cross audit suppliers in the responsible Operation Centers in regards to capacity reliability, order confirmation accuracy, product transfer execution, and overall planning reliability.  Drive the on time approval of additional mold request.
  • Drive a customer focused mentality mindset across the responsible Operation Centers in improving overall satisfaction level of the sales organizations.

  • Experience in supply planning, production, and/or logistics preferred.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills in a global business setting. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adidas Group systems (GPS, SIM, ESC/OVA, ILA, PDM/PLM, etc…)
  • Proficiency with standard software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills
