1. IT Assistant

Location: IDECAF Centre, Ho Chi Minh City

Salary: Pay band 3/J

Duration: One year fixed term contract with possible extension

Closing Date: 28 March 2018 (23.59 UK time)

Role Overview:

The post-holder will play a key role in delivering IT services to the teaching centre, prioritising covering for the evening times and weekends, working closely with the IT team, technical vendors and Business Support Services (BSS) colleagues. She or he has to ensure the continuity in business operations and resolve IT issues to enhance the quality of IT services and also be the key point of contact between the teaching centre and BSS colleagues at the main office. Main duties will include system installation and maintenance, performance monitoring on the network and IT related equipment and software troubleshooting and maintenance. This also includes telephone and internet connection administration.

The British Council Teaching Centre operates on Monday to Friday from 08.00 to 21.30 and on Saturday/ Sunday from 07.30 to 21.30. All posts may be required to follow a working pattern that includes unsocial hours. The Branch IT Assistant post requires a working pattern that can cover for the evening time and weekends with priority to support teaching centre’s operation.

To be considered a successful candidate for this post, one to two years of experience in IT which includes proven experience in computer/ server/ wireless networking, ITIL (server management), computer/ server/ wireless management and security and database management. Experience in facilities/ premises management will be an advantage. Applicants must be graduates in the relevant field and have excellent Vietnamese skills and good English speaking skills.

2. Accountant

Location: Ho Chi Minh City

Salary: Pay band 4 (From VND 13.838.000 per month)

Duration: Permanent (with the first two contracts of one-year fixed term)

Closing Date: 27 March 2018 (23.59 UK time)

Role Overview:

We are looking for an accountant to be based in Ho Chi Minh City to ensure the financial services in the areas of income collection, taxes (Value-Added Tax), reconciliation and banking is aligned with business requirements and financial/ accounting requirements of British Council and Vietnamese accounting standards (VAS). 

The incumbent will work in the Financial Controller team in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), which is a very dynamic team of the British Council in Vietnam. The team provides high standard business support services to the British Council’s operation within the country, in coordination with finance and cashier colleagues in the two new Teaching centres in HCMC and two main centres in Hanoi and HCMC, as well as finance colleagues from regional Finance team and Shared Services Centre.  

To be considered a successful candidate, you must bring along a minimum of three years of practical working experience in corporate accounting finance for a multi-national organisation. Experience of working with banks, knowledge of SAP and Vietnamese Accounting System knowledge will make you a preferred candidate. You should also be a graduate in accounting or finance, have excellent Vietnamese and English communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
