Responsible for supporting line managers to manage engaged, high-performing teams, using basic technical capabilities to provide day-to-day advice, case management, line manager support for critical 'moments that matter' and assist with project delivery in line with the business' people plan, local legislation, BP policy and best practice.
As the People & Culture (P&C) team moves into embracing agile ways of working, the P&C Advisor is a key member of the Asia Pacific Consulting agile team. The P&C Advisor will work in project and/or business squads supporting business priorities. These team are self-organizing, aligned behind a mission and understand how they are expected to deliver value.

What you do:
  • Manage recruitment activities in country to deliver the best selection for middle management and below roles following bp standard talent acquisition processes.
  • Select and manage on-going relationships with recruitment agencies to ensure satisfactory standards of service.
  • Evaluate labor market and internal attrition trends to recommend changes to country recruitment strategies.
  • Operate as flexible partnering resources that can shift focus based on agreed priorities.
  • Member of business and/or project squads as defined by the Consulting Manager.
  • When working in a business squad:
    • Develops an understanding of the business they are supporting
    • Advises on site/location specific P&C policies and processes
    • Responds to employee concerns in partnership with embedded partner and leaders
    • Provides people data insights in support of agreed priorities
    • Supports delivery of agreed people priorities alongside embedded partners
    • In countries or sites where not performed by the employee/line manager directly with services & solutions: manages people data, provides people reports to the business, actions changes to P&C systems, supports embedded partner in administration of local legislative requirements, responds to P&C policy and Reward questions
    • Receives day-to-day direction from squad lead/product owner
  • When working in a project squad:
    • Delivers the defined products in sprint cycles in accordance with working agreements as defined by that self-organizing squad
    • Receives day-to-day direction from relevant squad lead/product owner
  • Increases own agile knowledge and practices as well as being comfortable to learn through doing, supported by a growth mindset
Who you are:
  • Essential Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or similar
  • Essential Experience and Job Requirements
    • Experience in aspects of the employee lifecycle, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, on-boarding and off-boarding, talent management, performance management, reward.
    • Demonstrates knowledge and application of employment law, P&C best practice and employee/industrial relations
    • Experience supporting organisational change programs and organisational design experience
    • Excellent team player, ability to quickly build relationships across a broad spectrum of teams
    • Thrives in ambiguity and can change direction based on insights
    • Is curious and asks questions; has courage to bring in different thinking and is open to possibilities
    • Focused on learning, gives and receives feedback and invites difference of opinion
  • Desirable criteria
