Good Neighbors is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization that plans, implements and raises funds for the provision of services in child education, community development, health, sanitation, and disaster relief projects. Currently Good Neighbors has been operating in 37 countries, supporting approximately 17 million people, including about 10 million children.

Good Neighbors International in Vietnam (GNI) is implementing Community Development Projects (CDP) based on child sponsorship in 3 provinces; Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh, and Thanh Hoa. GNI is working in main areas as child sponsorship and education, water and sanitation, income generation, etc. in 6 CDPs and is managing about 10,000 sponsored children.     

Volunteers (2 positions)

Job title: Volunteers (2 positions)

Effective date: October, 2017

Department: Sponsorship Services  Division (SSD)

Location: Head Office, Hanoi

Reports to: SSD Manager/Officers

Type of contract: Short-term/ Temporary

 

1. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Country Director, Managing Director, SSD Manager/Officers, Admin-Finance Manager/Officers,  Project Manager, Field Officers

Sponsored children, Communities  

2. MAIN DUTIES

  • Provide support for Officer and Manager in terms of SSD activities, namely inclusive of:

  • Prepare content and logistic work for training, workshop, seminar,…under the in charge SSD officers’ direction;

  • Contribute ideas and ongoing support for Child protection communication activities of the department

  • Build theme, content and format for the event related

  • Work and cooperate with other volunteers to ensure and boost good team working.

  • Perform translation or interpretation from English to Vietnamese and vice versa

  • Maintain and update filling system in office

  • Assist in preparing correspondences ensuring the right format, attachments and addresses for sending out to external audiences

  • Provide other support as required

3. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education

  • College/University degree in relevant field (majoring in foreign language is an advantage)

  • Senior or junior student is also preferred

Work experience

  • Experience in INGO as volunteer

  • Experience in translation and interpretation from Vietnamese to English and vice versa

Skills

  • Competent English skills

  • Good computer skills

  • Communication background knowledge and skills

Attitude

  • Reliable & self-initiative

  • Teamwork

Income Generation ( IG) Intern

Job title: Income Generation ( IG) Intern

2. MAIN DUTIES

  • Support to conduct survey on developing IG Groups, Cooperatives, survey households to participate in microfinace programs (Household economic development fund – HED fund);
  • Support to provide guidance for household to implement IG related activities such as building up constitution, business plan for IGG members; procedures, document preparation of newly registered IGG members, HED fund members;
  • Regularly monitor and supervise operation of IGG, cooperatives; the use of loan by HED fund members; ensure the loans are used for the right purpose, and reimbursement regulations;
  • Support IGGs, cooperatives, households, partners in the process of build up proposals;
  • Support actively IGG, households and other beneficiaries implementing activities timely and effectively;
  • Coordinate with local authorities, group management board to withdraw revolving fund from households;
  • Conduct research, marketing and contact with potential customers for selling IG products;
  • Support to conduct any meetings, workshops or training related to IG programs;
  • Keep track and regular back up of IG’s financial documents;
  • Regularly report to IG Team Leader, Project Manager regarding assigned tasks;
  • Do other tasks assigned by IG team leader and Project Manager.

3. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Requirements

University degree in relevant fields of recruitment position:  

  • Economics,
  • Agricultural Economics,
  • Animal Husbandary,
  • Veterinary,
  • Plant Science or Plant Protection.

Work experience

  • Fresh graduates are accepted to apply;
  • An applicant who owns experience in farmer capacity development will be preferred; 

Skills

  • Be able to work independently and work with the team;
  • Own good organizing skills and interpersonal skills;
  • Good skill in computer use: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet;
  • Basic written and spoken English skill.

  1. Research; update State’s policies and regulations of Law about the cooperatives.
  2. Conduct survey and build a development plan for the cooperatives in the project areas supported by GNI.
  3. Develop criterias to evaluate the cooperatives.
  4. Research, design and develop appropriate activities to assist effectively cooperatives supported by GNI in both production and consumption of products.
  5. Support cooperative management board for an effectively cooperative operation and management.
  6. Support the cooperatives and other stakeholders in planning, implementing necessary steps and timely registration for necessary quality certification for products of the cooperatives.
  7. Contact and cooperate with consultants/ experts to organize the training course, provide technical consultancy and skills for the management board and members of the cooperative.
  8. Report to management members about the activities of cooperative development sector daily and when required. Be in charge of assigned tasks before management members.
  9. Perform other related or required tasks:
  1. Coordinate with other officers to handle tasks;
  2. Comply with GNI’s rules and regulations and make efforts to strengthen internal solidarity;
  3. Propose more ideas to enhance the operation of the project;
  4. Do other jobs as requirement by line managers.

3. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education

  • University degree in relevant field of Economics, Development economics and Law

Work experience

  • Experienced in supporting farmer to develop economic and cooperative law
  • Experienced in making plan and operating project
  • Mornitor, design and corporate with partners
  • Work individual and work in team

Skills

  • Ability to work independently and work with the team;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Good organizing skills and interpersonal skills;
  • Good skill in computer use: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email
