The series of Youth Leadership Development Workshops are organized by Center for Sustainable Development Studies (CSDS) in collaboration with Oxfam and 2030 Youth Force in Vietnam in three cities throughout Vietnam for youth leaders – representatives of members of 2030 Youth Force in Vietnam and ones of projects granted by the small grant program “Youth Initiatives for SDGs”. These workshops belong to a set of activities with the aim of developing youth capacity to contribute to communities and strengthen their voices, their roles in communities and policy making via impact in active youth groups and their leaders.

OUR GOALS
  • Form an enabling space whereby youth leaders actively create the big picture of sustainable development and determine the current role, position, desire and capabilities of youth in that picture;
  • Initiate a series of impact, starting with youth leaders, and national youth force being the next in line and eventually effecting on communities, youth will be the key agents contributing to sustainable development;
  • Bring about the opportunities for youth to determine core problems in areas of development that they are working on, based on that, a direction for elevating/delving into their activities is found and following discoveries, actions are taken;
  • Enhance the connection between youth groups inside and outside the 2030YFV network, helping building a strong community of youth groups. This connection will be made real with a shared activity after the workshop.
CONTEXT Among many youth groups who are actively contributing to the development of the community in various fields, only a few of them aims at helping the community to tackle their own issues. The rest of these groups are delivering service themselves, with the communities being the beneficiary. In order to enhance efficiency and strengthen their voice in community and development, orientation and development tools are necessary for them. The series of Youth Leadership Development Workshops hope to help solve this problem.
