Industry and Employment Consultant (Hanoi)

As an Industry and Employment consultant, your focus will be on developing and maintaining high quality relationships with local and international employers, to provide a wide variety of scholarships, internships and graduate employment opportunities for RMIT (Undergraduate/Post-Graduate, local and international students and alumni).

You will be responsible for supporting Academic Centre for student opportunities as outlined above, as well as identifying potential opportunities for business development, training, research and collaboration.

This is a unique opportunity and would suit someone with previous experience in career support, recruitment or business development (particularly within the education sector).

Key accountabilities include:

  • Develop, create and maintain industry partnerships to create internship and graduate job opportunities for students and alumni by fostering mutual beneficial relationships for RMIT Vietnam
  • Build a strong understanding of recruitment needs and trends across diverse industry sectors
  • Present a portfolio of options for employers to engage with RMIT Vietnam for recruitment activities, scholarships, sponsorships, WIL projects, mentoring, committees, guest lectures, etc. 
  • Analyse and report industry insights back to Academic Centres
  • Liaises with the Centres, understand their needs and identify potential collaborations with companies based on their needs/requests
  • Plan and organise all employer related events in collaboration with key internal stakeholders, such as Career Expo, networking events, recruitment activities, etc. 

To be considered, you must demonstrate:

  • 3+ years of industry experience
  • Highly developed communication skills including; well-developed interpersonal, negotiation, networking and liaison skills with a proven record of working successfully with multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of approaches to recruitment and industry engagement across the student experience.
  • Superior time management skills, including ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to provide exemplary customer service with a wide variety of individuals such as students, industry partners, and academic staff.

If English is not your first language, or you have not completed secondary education in an English speaking institution in an English speaking country, then you will be required to demonstrate a minimum English language proficiency standard at a BULATS Upper Intermediate level (BULATS score 60-74), equivalent to IELTS (General) 5.5 - 6.5. If you are not sure your current level of English language proficiency, RMIT Vietnam will provide opportunities for you to undertake testing if you are shortlisted for the position.

Senior Manager, Student Life

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Student Life, to provide strategic management of Student Life programs and facilities across RMIT Vietnam. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, in this exciting senior management position, you will have the opportunity to provide students with quality, unique experiences, that that will make their time at RMIT Vietnam unforgettable.

With seven direct reports, and oversight of a department of around 30 people, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering student leadership, development, and orientation programs
  • Managing the framework for Student Clubs, activities, and sports
  • Ensuring the successful operation of the Student Residential Centre
  • The delivery of high quality International Student Support
  • Overseeing the Student Council
  • Managing and all REC (Recreation and Events Complex) operations

You must be able to:

  • Provide supportive, analytical and creative leadership
  • Work both strategically and operationally
  • Work collaboratively with other Student Service departments, Academic Centres and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide expert advice on improvements relating to furthering the student experience on campus
  • Manage the Student Life budget, in accordance with University goals and priorities

 To be considered, you must have:

  • Post-Graduate Qualifications in a related discipline (i.e. Business Administration, Education Management)
  • Significant experience in a higher education environment, with direct input into student engagement programs
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including demonstrated experience in leading, managing and developing teams, and proven experience in managing complex issues with multiple stakeholders
  • Significant demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to manage, develop and document complex processes
  • A commitment to continuous improvement
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including experience in writing and editing business process documentation and reports
  • English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam, and for this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent)

Learning Advisor (HCMC)

Student Academic Success (SAS) provides learning support services that promote academic achievement across RMIT Vietnam programs.

This Learning Advisor position is responsible for the delivery of Learning Advising through various study support services and resources offered by SAS including: individual and small group consultation sessions, workshop programs, peer-assisted learning and digital self-access materials through a range of media.

To be considered, you must demonstrate: 

  • At least one year experience teaching secondary or tertiary-level students in a classroom environment
  • Minimum one year previous experience providing academic and study skills support for secondary or tertiary level learners
  • Demonstrated effective experience in engaging students in the use of self-access and online resources and services for supporting students' immediate and longer term academic and literacy developmental needs
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills for interacting with diverse learners and colleagues in an international university context
  • High level of awareness of learner needs in alignment with demonstrated knowledge and commitment to continuous improvement principles and a developmental approach to academic skills support in educational settings.
  • Ability to creatively design and engage students with activities that facilitate language and learning skills development in support of learners' study goals
  • Skilled in the use of technology as a teaching and learning tool with proven experience in using digital resources to support rich learning experiences and ability to use Learning Management Systems (e.g. Blackboard, Canvas)
